This celestial inspired graphic was created for Cedaero’s annual bike “race” called the Slender James Classic. Each year we have a theme and this year’s theme was Celestial Season(ings). To commemorate this I created this design so that it would showcase celestial imagery such as stars and the moon phases, but also reference cycling with the wheel in the back that doubles somewhat as a medieval halo. The graphic also showcases the face of Cedaero’s mascot - Slender James.

I used a linoleum slab to carve the design, and white block printing fabric ink. This was the first block print I made in quite some time so I wanted to keep the design relatively simple so I could get it done in one night, but also make sure it turned out looking like a nicely executed image.
